Instructions Following Arestin Placement

After placement of Arestin, you should avoid chewing hard, crunchy, or sticky foods (i.e., carrots, taffy, and gum) as well as avoid touching treated areas.

Please postpone the use of interproximal cleaning devices around the treated sites for 10 days after administration of Arestin.

Some mild to moderate sensitivity is expected during the first week after administration of Arestin.

Please notify the office promptly if pain, swelling, or other problems occur. Inform the office if itching, swelling, rash, papules, reddening, or other symptoms of possible hypersensitivity occur.

You may return to regular oral hygiene when the dentist advises you (i.e., flossing, use of water pik, go-between proxy brushes, etc).
